| | The FP Filtration Media is the "brain" to this whole operation, without it the body of the system does not operate. It is impossible to use an external filter to remove the harmful substances that this media is designed to remove.
Below are pictures of the filtration media in operation. This filtration media swells and absorbs any type of acid, water, antifreeze, and paraffin. There are a few other people out there trying to copy us and they are using rock salt or Silica Gel, and we have even heard of someone trying to pass off cat-litter. Silica Gel, Rock Salt or kitty litter will not absorb any acid, antifreeze, or paraffin, and it will not do much to water either. They simply do not have access to the same product that we use, so they try to find a product that looks "close" and they pass it off to you. Ask them for pictures of their product in operation, if they can't prove that their product actually absorbs and swells when introduced to acids, water, antifreeze, etc, then stay away from their systems. We are the only company here in the US using this Media to build biofuel systems. Consider everyone else a scam, unless they can prove otherwise.

What is this media and what does it do for me?
The FP Filtration Media is a high temperature, petroleum based, displacement polymer agent, Type F. It was originally developed in the early '70's as part of a weapons housing system and it has also been used in military fuel applications since, as a method to treat and clean used oil for fuel purposes. We have an actual member of our team who helped design this specific polymer which qualifies us to obtain the proper permits and licenses for its use. It is a controlled substance and we are 1 of only 2 companies here in the US that is authorized to receive this product on a regular basis. Needless to say, we are highly regulated.
First lets run a few terms down:
What is a Polymer?
"Any of various chemical compounds made of smaller, identical molecules (called monomers) linked together. Some polymers, like cellulose, occur naturally, while others, like nylon, are artificial. Polymers have extremely high molecular weights, make up many of the tissues of organisms, and have extremely varied and versatile uses in industry, such as in making plastics, concrete, glass, and rubber."
What does Displace mean?
"To move or put out of the usual place, to take the place of, to remove"
The polymer does exactly what its title says, by its makeup and design this media is used to displace any substance this is not petroleum based. Think of this, most of the oil you pickup will have an acid content, this acid needs to be neutralized and removed, also your oil will contain amounts of water and antifreeze, these need to be dealt with as well. None of these items mentioned above are petroleum based. The first issue that this specific polymer deals with is acid: it attracts the acid, displaces(removes) the acid from the petroleum, pulls the acid inside of itself, holds and neutralizes it. It does the same with water, antifreeze, paraffin, and any other non-petro based substance, only spending energy to neutralize something that needs to be, water does not need to be neutralized, just removed.
As you can see, this polymer is the key component in our systems, without it the systems will not perform. It is very dangerous to process petroleum based oils without this polymer, it acts as your fuels security agent by detaining dangerous substances ,such as acid, and "clearing" harmless petroleum based oils so that they may continue on as your fuel source.
What changes do I need to watch out for concerning my filtration media?
The main issue is swelling of the polymer itself. We place the polymer in a mesh bag, which, as a whole we call a POD, over the lifespan of your POD you will notice swelling as the polymer attracts and holds non-petro based products. These PODs do not last forever, eventually you will need to order a replacement. On our parts page you will see a list of the different FP Media and prices. These prices are the actual costs that we pay, there is and can be no markup whatsoever on the actual polymer itself, we simply charge for shipping and pass it on to you.
How do I order an FP Filtration Media replacement?
You must contact us directly or contact one of our dealers. We will have a small form that you will need to fill out before a replacement is provided, this form is part of our permit process and we are required to turn these forms in on any POD that is sent out independent of an actual system. We will not and cannot sell one of these PODs to you if you have not purchased one of our systems.
