Description: Step up to commercial scale biofuel production with the TF5000. This unit is one of the highest output biofuel systems available to the public and it is set up to be a major fuel producer. It is perfect in many capacities: it serves well for both the individual that desires to make fuel quickly, the do it and get it over with as quickly as possible person, and the TF5000 is excellent for large businesses: trucking fleets, large agricultural operations, etc.
This setup features a 3 tiered filter design and a huge FP-3 filtration media assembly, together they completely remove all harmful particles and ensure a flawless final fuel product. With the TF5000 you can be sure that you are getting a top of the line design that out-produces every other system available, both in terms of a cleaner fuel and output capacity.
The TF5000 is made to either sit on a shop floor or it can be mounted on a cart or trailer like we have ours. A small 4 by 6 or 4 by 8 trailer works great and can be purchased very inexpensively. Ours cost $150 to give you an idea, and it works great for carrying the unit and when we need to pick oil up we simply take the TF5000 off the trailer, set it in the shop, and mount 2 oil pickup containers on the trailer. Also this is a good chance to mention that when empty this system is very easily moved around. The unit separates quickly with quick connect fittings and all exits have an on/off valve to keep fuel from going everywhere, remember we want to make our own fuel but we don’t want to make a mess. The unit has a nozzle flow rate equal to or more than what you see coming out of a gas station pump nozzle. We now use a gravity flow nozzle for increased reliabilty in cold weather.
The unit in the picture above is the actual unit that we use on a weekly basis, and we process anywhere from 800-1200 gallons through it every week.

Filter Overview: The TF5000 is different all the way around, within this system we utilize 3 external filters:
-The first is a stainless steel prefilter. The stainless element in this filter can be removed easily for cleaning.
-The second filter is a 10 micron water block filter. This filter needs to be replaced every 1,000 gallons.
-The third filter is an upgraded PFC5000 polypropylene filter cartridge, it is a 1 micron filter designed for the greater pressures and fuel volumes that the TF5000 experiences. It needs to be replaced every 1,000 gallons with a fresh cartridge. 5 extra PFC5000 filters are included with every TF5000 order, so you have 6,000 gallons to go through before you need to re-order.
-The fourth ,and most important, filter is a custom FP-3 filtration media assembly, which is designed to handle the input/output volumes that this large system sees on a daily basis.

Unit Maintenance:
1- Every 1,000 gallons clean the stainless steel prefilter, use compressed air, carb. cleaner, etc to blow the debris off the screen. Also replace the 10 micron water block filter, simply cross reference the number at your local auto parts/tractor parts store, and replace the PFC5000 filter. The number above (1,000 Gal.) is the maximum amount of gallons that we recommend between changes and depending on the dirtiness of your oil, it may be necessary to clean or replace filters more often.
2- Once a year the FP-3 filtration media should be taken out of the tank, inspected for swelling, then placed in a bucket of clean diesel fuel for 30 minutes. Also this is a good time to clean the inside of the tank by flushing it with clean diesel fuel. NEVER use soap/water to clean the inside of the tank. After the FP-3 has soaked for 30 minutes, drop it back inside the tank and you are ready to process fuel once again.
Costs:
You should expect to replace the FP-3 filtration media every 50,000 gallons, a replacement costs $500.00 and this works down to $0.01 per gallon. A water block filter will run around $15 locally and a 1 micron PFC5000 filter costs $15. Again 5 extra PFC5000 filters come with each unit.
Cost to produce 1,000 gallons(not including diesel fuel, of course):
FP-3 - $10.00
10 micron water block filter - $15.00
1 PFC5000 - $20.00 (includes $5.00 shipping)
Total $45.00 (or $0.045 per gallon)
Unit Payback:
-500 gallons of used oil processed in 1 week
-blended at a 50/50 ratio with diesel fuel
-with a diesel fuel average of $3.00/gal.
$1,500 saved each week and a payback time of 2 weeks.
